Overview
The agency’s charter is granted by Part XIV of the Constitution of India, titled as Services Under the Union and the States. The commission is mandated by the Constitution for appointments to the services of the Union and All India Services. It is also required to be consulted by the Government in matters relating to the appointment, transfer, promotion and disciplinary matters. The commission reports directly to the President and can advise the Government through him. Although, such advice is not binding on the Government. Being a constitutional authority, UPSC is amongst the few institutions which function with both autonomy and freedom, along with the country’s higher judiciary and lately the Election Commission
- Procedure : The 10th class exam is conducted at the state level by the state boards of education and at the national level by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Class 10 exam is conducted annually. 10th board exam syllabus may differ for students from different education boards.
- Schedule : In India, 10th board exam is usually conducted in March/April by most of the boards of education in India. An exam schedule is released by the boards at least one month before the exam. The Secondary School Certificate [SSC] or Matriculation examination is a public examination in India. Students of 10th grade/class ten can appear in these, and It is equivalent to GCSE in England and first two years of high schools in United States.
